Which literary character are you?

He sat down to take the quiz. Faces of book covers and movie stars were hastily Photoshopped around the words WHICH LITERARY CHARACTER ARE YOU?

Question 1: Are you a fictional character or an actual human being?

The question confused him. Too straightforward, he thought. Must be a quirky trick before the fun personality stuff. Best to answer it honestly, as he does for every such quiz.

B. ACTUAL HUMAN BEING.

He waited for the screen to refresh. It only took a couple seconds, much faster than most other quiz sites.

Congratulations! You are not a fictional character. You are an actual human being.

“That’s it?!” In his surprise, he spoke out loud.

He thought of refreshing the page again. Must be a mistake. A glitch. A hiccup in the system. The moved the mouse, positioned the pointer, readied the click. He read the words again.

Congratulations! You are not a fictional character. You are an actual human being.

He still didn’t get it. But he turned off the laptop anyway and looked out the window. It was raining.
